Contact us (EarSpoke-BTE Classic) What would you like help with today? *My hearing device is not making any sound or turning on. My hearing device is squealing / whistlingMy hearing device is boosting sound, but I still can't understand what other people are saying. My hearing amplifier used to work fine, but lately the sound has gotten weaker. My problem is not listed here, or I just have a general inquiry about the product. Check to see if the device will connect to the Soundwear app. *My device connects to the app. My device will not connect to the app. • Try a new battery • Make sure the door is closed all the way (there are 2 clicks) (battery door NOT fully closed) (battery door fully closed) • Clean the contact springs • Pry the contact spring slightly outward to make sure it touches the side of the battery. • Pull the ear dome off and clean the opening with the brush. Twist the tube off and run the cleaning wire through it to clear any blockage. • Make sure the volume is not turned all the way down in the app. • Make sure the frequency bands are not turned too far down. You can reach this menu by clicking "MORE" on the main page of the Soundwear app. Does this solve your problem?Yes, the problem is now resolved! No, the device still does not turn on. Squealing / whistling noise is caused by feedback. Feedback happens when the sound coming out of the speaker leaks out of the ear and finds its way back to the microphone. This happens when the volume is too high, or the rubber ear dome tip does not get a good enough seal in your ear canal. Here are some steps you can take to reduce feedback: (1) The tube may not be inserted all the way into your ear canal. Be sure to press the tube deeper into your canal so that it is flush against the side of your ear. (If it's too tight, then you may want to use a different size ear dome) *I've inserted the tube flush against my ear and this has solved the feedback issue. I have pressed the tube flush against my ear, but there is still feedback. (2) Your current volume setting may be too loud for the open-fit ear dome. If the volume is very high, then we recommend switching to the semi-open or the closed dome, because it blocks more sound from escaping your ear canal. Otherwise you may want to lower the volume. *I am now using the semi-open dome or the closed dome, and my problem is solved. I have tried the semi-open dome and then the closed dome, but it still squeals when I put the device on. (3) It also helps to put the device on your ear BEFORE turning it on. *(A) Put the device on your ear first and insert the tube into your ear canal. (B) Then turn it on. 1. Go through the hearing check to optimize the programming. 2. Choose a different dome to get the most out of your programming. Try the semi-open dome, closed dome, or the earhook with the thicker sound tube. A decrease in volume is usually caused by debris or earwax blocking the rubber ear dome or the tube. Remove the rubber ear dome tip to clean it. Twist the tube off and run the cleaning wire through it to clear up any blockage. Name *Email *Please double-check the spelling of your email.
